Best Menu - all about improving your phone as a Smart Phone. Organize and instantly access phone numbers, contacts, emails, documents. How to start

Best Menu consists of two main modules: a Configuration application and a Service module.

When the Best Menu service is activated there is no need to keep the configuration application opened. You can close it not to waste your device memory.

How it works

The service does not substitute your phone Menu application or standby screen application, it works with them providing additional functions set and increasing your device usability.

In the service main view you can see Tabs set on the left and a list of items on the right. You can switch between them using left/right keys. You create any amount of tabs and place any number of items on each tab. This allows you to categorize your items and be able to access the needed item as fast as possible.

Text templates and macros

Text template is the simplest macro. To create it use "Place new" \ "Macro" command. As a macro text you can type any text. For example "Hello world!" or "Best regards, Antony Djin". When you execute the macro this text will be simply typed into your currently opened application.

Moving further. Auto text.

Sometimes you need to insert a bit more complex text that includes, say, current date or time, person name of last call or his number, etc. You can use macro words to make it. To insert macro word to current macro text you can use "Insert" command and select the needed action.

Moving further. Scripting.

Macro is like a shortcut - it is something that can automate a long list of actions you need to do to accomplish one task. It rolls many steps into one. Basically you define every keystroke, every button click, every command that you need to do in order to accomplish this one task, so when you need to do this possibly complex set of actions next time, the macro will just repeat back everything it observed.

Best Menu macros allow you to start/stop defined application(s), send keys to these applications, opening menus, selecting needed commands in menus, prefill forms, etc

You don't need to remember all macro words to make macro. You can just insert them from menu "Insert" when editing macro.

Type & Go and Call log tabs

The service has 2 default tabs where you can't place items. "Type & go" and "Call log" tabs. These tabs offer additional functionality.

"Type & go" - here you can type something, any part of someone's number or name, or part of application name and service will find all contacts or applications that match your text. With 'type and go' you find and start some application fast or find some number or contact and call it, etc

"Call log" - here you can overview your phone conversations. All calls in one view with caller information, date and duration.

If you don't want these tabs to be displayed you can hide them using "Edit tabs" commands

Modify and organize tabs

You can use "Edit tabs" command to modify existing tabs names, icons, create new tabs and change their order. Also you can hide or delete not needed tabs and make one tab default if you want. Default tab will always be selected when you pop up the service window. If no default tab is selected then the last used tab will stay selected when you pop up the service.
